For Sunergy Systems, this past year marked a defining milestone: 20 years of serving Washington homeowners and businesses with high-quality solar and battery solutions, all leading up to our Sunergy Systems 20 Year Anniversary Celebration, a testament to our commitment to excellence.

As a locally rooted, 100% employee-owned company, reaching 3000 installations and two decades in business gave us an opportunity to reflect on our journey, celebrate our people, and look ahead with confidence.

From humble beginnings to becoming one of Washington’s most trusted solar installers, the past 20 years have been guided by our shared vision of a green-energy future, the tireless efforts of our dedicated employee-owners, and a commitment to doing solar the right way. We are excited to celebrate our milestones at the Sunergy Systems 20 Year Anniversary Celebration.

Celebrating 20 Years of Sunergy Systems: Honoring Our Roots and Looking to the Future

To celebrate our 20th anniversary, we gathered our employee-owners and their families for a Sunergy Systems anniversary picnic, recognizing the people who make our work possible. The event reflected the culture that has guided us for two decades—collaborative, people-centered, and deeply invested in our community.

As part of this celebration, we also created a Sunergy Systems mini-documentary highlighting our origins, major milestones, and vision for the future. The film honors our early days, showcases the evolution of our team and services, and reinforces our long-term commitment to clean, reliable energy in Washington State.

Record-Breaking Solar and Battery Installations: A Milestone Year for Solar and Energy Storage

Despite a shifting incentive environment where the federal tax credit for residential solar installations was eliminated, 2025 proved to be a record year for Sunergy Systems installations:
• Highest annual solar capacity installed, measured in total kilowatts (kW)
• Highest number of battery installations, measured in total battery units

These achievements reflect growing demand for solar panels and battery storage in Washington, particularly as homeowners seek energy resilience, backup power, and opportunities to participate in Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) adopted by local utilities like Puget Sound Energy. Our growth continues to be driven by thoughtful system design, quality workmanship, and a long-term approach to customer value.

Giving Back to Washington Communities: Supporting Local Charities and Nonprofits

Community involvement remains central to who we are. Throughout the year, Sunergy Systems proudly supported local charities and nonprofit organizations working to strengthen communities across Washington State.

As an employee-owned solar company, we believe clean energy should benefit more than just individual households—it should support environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and community resilience.

We were proud to support organizations like Olympia Community Solar, Ballard Food Bank, and WASEIA in 2025.

Industry Leadership and Advocacy: Jon Lange Elected President of WASEIA

This year also marked a major leadership moment for both Sunergy and the broader solar industry. Sunergy Systems President Jon Lange was elected President of the Washington Solar Energy Industries Association (WASEIA).

WASEIA represents solar installers, manufacturers, and clean-energy advocates statewide, promoting responsible solar policy, consumer protection, and high installation standards. Jon’s election reflects his decades-long commitment to ethical solar growth and positions Sunergy at the forefront of industry collaboration and policy engagement.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Bill Gordon: Recognizing Years of Trusted Partnership

At the end of 2025, we will honor the retirement of Bill Gordon, Sunergy’s business advisor. Bill has played a critical role in supporting Sunergy through our recent years of growth, transition, and operational evolution.

His expertise, professionalism, and steady guidance helped lay the foundation for our continued success. We extend our deepest thanks and best wishes to Bill as he begins his next chapter.

Navigating Change in Solar Incentives: Looking Ahead After the Federal Tax Credit Shift

This year brought industry-wide challenges, including the elimination of the 30% federal solar tax credit. While policy changes can create uncertainty, early indicators show that solar and battery demand in Washington remains strong.

Rising energy costs, increasing interest in energy storage systems, remaining availability in generous net-metering programs, and long-term state clean-energy goals continue to drive adoption. Sunergy remains confident in our ability to adapt, educate customers, and thrive as the market evolves heading into 2026.
