Howard Lamb is a recognized expert in the field of solar energy with twenty-five years of experience. While earning his master’s in electrical engineering at the University of South Florida’s ground-breaking Electric Vehicle/Solar Energy Program in 1994, as a research assistant he developed the first high-powered solar charging station for electric vehicles. He continued his work in alternative energy at Trace Engineering followed by the Advanced Batteries Lab for Electric Vehicles. In 2005, Howard founded Sunergy Systems and continues guiding it in the ever-changing solar landscape and keeping it positioned as a premier provider of solar energy solutions. He is also a former Solar Washington board of director, founding member of Solar Installers of Washington, and instructor at the Clean Energy Technology Center.

Jon is our Company President and a 15-year veteran of the solar industry and a NABCEP Certified Solar PV Installer. Jon started his solar electric career in NJ in 2003, after coming up through the PV program of Solar Energy International, where he eventually became an instructor. After moving to Seattle in 2006, he found himself at home with Sunergy Systems under the tutelage of Electrical Engineer Howard Lamb. Jon has managed the installation of over 2,000 residential and commercial PV systems. When Jon took the helm as Company President 2015, it was out of appreciation for his dedication to solar, experience, and just being the outstanding person that he is! He leads tirelessly with a genuine warmth, endless passion for solar, and expertise as one of the most respected industry professionals in our State. Jon and his family power their home with a 5.3 kW solar electric system and heat their water with a solar hot water system. When he’s not working, Jon can be found hanging out at home with his family, playing bass with his band, building things out of pallets, watching Sounders games, and drinking great, local beers.

Steve joined Sunergy back in the early days and helped shape it into the company it is today! Steve is one of the only NABCEP-certified Solar Hot Water Installers in the State and has installed over 200 solar hot water systems. In 2013, Steve traded his toolbelt for design tools and moved off the roof (for at least part of his time) and became a Solar Design Consultant. Steve loves solar and lives a very sustainable life with his family and power their family home with a 3.36 kW SunPower solar electric system and hot water with solar thermal. They also tend to three veggie gardens, several rain gardens and compost bins.

Site Surveyor & Draftsman

Michael is a foundational and beloved member of the Sunergy Systems’ family. Before he moved to the West Coast in 2007, he had already been installing solar for several years. Michael started out as our lead installer with over 500 installations of experience. In 2014 he became our principal Solar Site Surveyor and Draftsman and helps develop a solar dream into an energy reality for our customers. He loves animals and has a cattle dog named Coey. Michael is also an avid musician who is currently playing in three different groups here in Seattle while constantly working on and recording his own music.

In 1980, Greg graduated with his Engineering degree and began his Solar career in northern California. Now he is one of the most knowledgeable solar designers in Washington and the senior member of the Sunergy Systems Solar Design Consultant team. With site design experience, Greg also advises solar siting and homesite development. When he’s not presenting a Solar-U workshop or talking Solar, Greg enjoys all that life can offer with his kids and grandson! An avid aviator, Greg enjoys flying in his spare time and snapping shots of recent Sunergy Systems installs around the Puget Sound. Since they settled in Western Washington, Greg and his wife installed their own solar energy equipment at their Kitsap home that has been generating power and hot water for years. He has a genuine passion for Solar and is a patient educator with incredible engineering skills. So when we say, “Greg knows solar!”, Greg really knows solar!

Jason started his solar career in 2004 with SPG Solar, one of California’s larger solar integrators, where he worked as a lead installer as well as a design and permitting specialist. Jason joined our team in 2010 and right from the get-go he has been a strong asset to us, leading many installs, and providing engineering and design insight to many solar systems. These days, he heads the Service Department at Sunergy ensuring that your system in tip-top shape and performing well! Jason is a highly regarded member of the Sunergy Systems family, he’s always there to lend a hand with great patience and a smile! Jason, his wife Sherri, and their daughter are huge Seahawks fans, so he built the coolest Hawks House a kid could ever want. He’s also an exceptional gardener and might have the best garden in the neighborhood!

Adam began his solar career with Sunergy Systems as a Solar Installer Intern after receiving his B.S. in Geography Resource and Environmental Studies. Solar quickly became his passion and now, he is a Senior Solar Design Consultant educating homeowners on the benefits of solar while designing customized systems for their home. His depth of knowledge, experience, and commitment to solar has inspired over 300 households around the Puget Sound to go solar! And Sunergy Systems is a better company for having him on-board, he is a constant cheerleader at all company events, provides a strong voice on our board, and brings a fun energy to the Sunergy family!

Eric began his solar career with Sunergy Systems and has an associate degree in Electrical Engineering from Topeka Tech in Kansas and over 13-years of general construction experience. Eric is one of our most experienced installers and is in the process of obtaining his electrician license!

While attending college in Southern California, Alfonso started his solar career with Solar City where he got his flair for the solar industry. Alfonso brought a plethora of knowledge to the Sunergy team when he joined us in 2013 as a solar installer. Through the tutelage of Sunergy electricians, in 2018 he obtained his electrician license and continues to expand his knowledge of solar and electrical service.

Chris is one of our lead installers and an avid fisher and outdoors man. If you’re having your system during the holiday season you most likely won’t be seeing Chis on your project as he owns and operates his own Christmas Tree stand since his high school days.

Born and raised in Seattle, Alan joined Sunergy Systems after he and another Sunergy electrician worked together for many years at a local electrical firm. Along with his 5-years of solar experience, he brought 20 years of experience with him in service industry. This “happy guy living the dream” loves to camp, hike, golf and hang with his family and friends.

Since July 2010, Matt has called Seattle home! He was originally from Philly and was looking for a fresh start after serving in the US Army. He entered the solar industry by chance, answering an email about a job his brother forwarded to him. Previously, Matt has worked as a dishwasher, Army MP, graveyard groundskeeper and security guard before Sunergy was lucky enough to have him join our installation team! When he’s not installing your solar array, you might find Matt enjoying video games, movies, hiking, shooting, camping, and good, casual debate.

Briana is the glue that holds it all together, she does it all. Minnesota was her home until the summer of 2015 when she sought a place to live a more sustainable and green life. Seattle fit perfectly! Once settled in, Briana joined our team as a Project Coordinator and brought several years of construction administration and a passion for renewables. In 2018 she stepped into the role as the company’s Administrative Manager, and what a difference she has made, drastic improvements and customer service experience in all her duties. Briana loves traveling and meeting new people. One big adventure in her future to is to visit South Korea where she was born. Briana enjoys camping trips, hiking and roadtrips. When the outdoors aren’t as welcoming, she loves cooking, and being home with her partner and their two cats!

Chris’s passion for solar became a reality back in 2014 when he “went solar” with Sunergy by having solar installed on his family’s Edmonds home. The Sunergy designer that assisted him was one of the State’s solar legends, Chris Herman, who he became friends with and eventually mentored by. Over the years he became Sunergy’s top SolarPass referrer with ten of his friends and acquaintances going solar!!!

Before Mr. Herman passed away in 2016, he planted a career changing seed with Chris, by encouraging him to join the Sunergy team. Even though Chris operated a small construction company, Northwest Renovations, in 2019 he fully embraced his solar passion and transitioned into a career with us. We are very fortunate to have such a loyal customer also representing us by sharing his solar experience and expertise with our customers. In his free time Chris enjoys concerts, live music and spending quality time with his wife and three daughters.

Nikki enjoys sharing her technical experience and enthusiasm with customers. Outside of work you can find her on the flying trapeze, gardening, spending time with her nieces, and camping.

With a long-time interest in sustainable technologies, in 2009 Cameron attended the Solar Living Institute in Hopland, California. His first project was installing a solar system on his brother’s house and Cameron immediately hit it off with the owner of their electrical contractor, who later hired him to start their solar division where he obtained his Journeyman Electrician license. To further his solar knowledge and make solar a full-time career, he joined Sunergy Systems in 2019. Cameron has a passion in sustainable living and social change, keeping up with emerging technologies and honing his skills in the electrical trade. When he is not geeking out on tech, he spends his time with his young daughter and loving wife.
